The colour experts at Pantone announced their colour of the year 2017 as 'Greenery' and in collaboration with Airbnb, they have designed a whole house in London inspired by the colour.
Pantone selects one colour each year which tends to influence design trends including fashion and interiors and this years colour has been described as a “fresh and zesty yellow-green shade”, symbolic of new beginnings, evoking the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore, and renew”.
The Greenery house is packed full of inspiration for decorating with plants and bringing more greenery into your home. Whilst it might be a bit too much for some people, it's definitley quirky and has created a stir amongst the design community. I personally think it's fab and would love to stay!
The new Airbnb 'Greenery' house creates an 'Outside - In' feel, with plant filled rooms with a woodland reception area, herb garden kitchen, botanical inspired dining room, tropical lagoon bathroom and the mowed lawn bedrooms.
Inside the house, there’s room for four people, with two bedrooms and three beds. Guests are also encouraged to interact with the house via the Airbnb app meaning they can hear sounds of nature as well as forage for herbs planted on the walls and even collect leaves to design their own custom print.
If you would like to add more greenery and plants to your home but you aren't very green fingered, you could always opt for artificial. Try adding a couple of stylish palm trees to brighten up your space, or take a look at our house plants collection for some more inspiration.
